Information for Professionals and the Public

Bright Choices is here to support people who are survivors or at risk of honour based violence. Regardless of whether you work directly with people who might be affected or you are a student or a member of the public, you are welcome to contact us for more information.

We regularly organise free training for professionals in partnership with the City of Edinburgh Council. We offer a 3 hour session on ‘Introduction to Honour Based Violence (HBV)’ and a 6 hour session on the ‘Inter-Agency Procedures for the Protection of Girls and Women at Risk of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)’. Both can be accessed through the City of Edinburgh Council’s website (maybe add link here?).

We also regularly run community and schools workshops on human rights, health, family relationships, compassion and conflict resolution.

To find out when the next training event or community workshop is running, please contact us, or check the ‘News’ section of this website. Alternatively, if you would like to organise a training or awareness raising session for your organisation or team, or a community workshop for your social group, please use the ‘contact us’ page and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
